Alexandre Beaudoin was born in Drummondville in February 1978. His father working for the Surete du Quebec, he moved in Abitibi, in Lanaudiere, Monteregie and Montreal. He eventually founded a family in Monteregie, where he lives with his wife Amélie and 4 children, Thalie, Elric, Marek and Liam. Alexandre obtained is B.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Montreal in 2000.
He joined in 2000, the Surete du Quebec as a latent fingerprints development specialist in the laboratory of Identification Services. In 2003 he became scientific advisor R&D in the Surete du Quebec Identification Services. While exercising this function, he obtaine is international M.Sc. in Health Technology Assessment & Management (apply to forensic science) with the Medicine Faculty of the following universities: University of Montreal, University of Ottawa, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore . In 2007, he organized the 30th Canadian Identification Society Educational Conference in Montreal who had been a success in the identification world. He was also the 2008-2009 President of the Canadian Identification Society, a professional association of identification forensic specialists. In 2010, he became the president-founder of the Association Quebecoise de Criminalistique.
Alexandre has published numerous articles, including several dealing with a new technique to reveal latent fingerprints on porous surfaces, the Oil Red O. He is also lecturer at the University of Montreal and Concordia University, and is a member of the International Association for Identification. He is the recipient of the Recognition Award - Creativity and Innovation in 2007 for his work on the Oil Red O, of the Edward Foster Award of the CIS and the Excellence in science popularization Award of the Graduate investment fund of the University of Montreal (FICSUM) in 2008.
In 2009 and 2011, he was among the fifty invited participants to the International Fingerprint Research Group (IFRG) at its biennial meeting (Lausanne, Switzerland and Linkoping, Sweden). Are invited to the conference only researchers most active in the world in the field of forensic identification.
